If you are planning to bring a rug south, arrange acceptance and drop-off with us before travelling. If you are considering delivery by another carrier, speak to us before packaging or dispatch. The rug’s condition needs to be suitable for the journey.
Moisture changes the handling advice
A dry rug that needs routine cleaning is different from one affected by a leak, damp storage or a pet accident. Tell us whether it is currently wet, whether it has been rolled up, and how long the problem has been present. Do not conceal dampness inside tightly sealed wrapping.
We cannot diagnose a rug from an odour description alone. Photographs and an honest account of the history help us decide what advice and assessment are appropriate before collection is discussed.
Know what the quote is for
Give the length and width of each rug, a label photograph if possible, and the main reason for cleaning. Include loose fringe, weak areas, previous repairs or an unstable backing. For an older rug, mention any uncertainty about the fibre rather than guessing.
The quote and booking discussion should make clear the proposed cleaning, any additional treatment, and transport terms. We do not assume that a distant enquiry has the same collection arrangement as an address near our workshop.
Specialist care with realistic expectations
Where a booking is accepted, the rug is inspected and the cleaning method chosen around its construction and condition. Dry soil removal, washing or other appropriate care, and controlled drying are considered as parts of the process.
We explain limitations such as existing fading, worn pile, colour instability or permanent staining. Ask about any required return date before booking so we can consider both the cleaning work and the journey back to you.
